| Q. | If you are a volunteer organization, why do you charge for the service? |
| A. | We receive no money for the Towns of Wheatfield, Cambria, Lewiston, Indian Reservation or government. We have to pay for the upkeep of the ambulances, mortgage, utilities, insurance, supplies and everyday operating expenses. |
| Q. | Why do you only do emergency transports and not from Hospital to Hospital, Hospital to Home, Home to Scheduled Office/Hospital visits? |
| A. | We are one of the busiest volunteer companies in Niagara County. We average 800 9 1 1 calls per year. We do not have the members or resources to do these non-emergency calls. Also, our New York State Department of Health Operating Certificate does not allow any other types of transports. |
| Q. | What if Tri-Community is not available in my time of need? |
| A. | A Niagara County 9 1 1 dispatcher will dispatch another service to you in conjunction with the Police and Fire Department. Unfortunately, you are responsible for any costs of this service. |
| Q. | What if I need the highest level of care and no Tri- Community Paramedic is available? |
| A. | Again, a Niagara County 9 1 1 dispatcher will dispatch another service to you. Unfortunately, you are responsible for any costs of this service. Tri-Community offers Paramedic level of service, however, because we are volunteer and our active members have jobs to support their families, a PARAMEDIC may not be available at all times. |
| Q. | What information should I have available for Emergency crews? |
| A. | You need to have a card or paper with your name, allergies, date of birth, name and phone number of an emergency contact, any current medications you are on with name, does, and number of times a day you take them, and past medical history available for Emergency crews. |
